“Everything Bends Toward the Sun” follows fifty-year-old Dana as she returns to her childhood apartment after the Zagreb earthquake, confronting four generations of her family’s belongings, including telegrams from Nikola Tesla. Blending live-action, autofiction, and object animation, the film explores memory, family history, and the country’s turbulent past. This innovative genre hybrid stars the director as herself, with actors in all other roles.
